Joy Pfister, Mrs. Virginia International 2008, is a spokesperson for the American Melanoma Foundation (AMF).  As spokesperson, she is working diligently toward heightening public awareness on the dangers of skin cancer.  Through her fashionable sun protective swim and active wear, Joy is offering women around the world an opportunity to improve their skin and reduce the risk of skin cancer. Joy's company, Kristy J., was launched in July 2007 and conscientiously donates 5% of its proceeds directly to the AMF for research.  Foundation staff and dermatologists served as testers for Joy's new ultra feminine sunscreen, SunEssence, providing valuable feedback for the final products.  Joy is committed to educating men, women and children on the dangers of prolonged, unprotected sun exposure.  As Mrs. Virginia International 2008, Joy will spread the American Melanoma Foundation’s message of preventing and fighting melanoma.
